The tropics were the second home for the English and they created a colonial style that's friendly and perfect for Miami .
When the English went to the outposts of the world, they had a memory of the Mother Country style but the native craftsmen didn't have the finesse, the tools or the history � so they created their own version. Each country in the Empire eventually created their own version of English. Invariably, it was charming with a homespun warmth and heft to it.
